  1. It is good to see that you guys have moved on beyond the comet.

    In the show you mentioned the Nazi adoption of the ancient symbol of the swastika. In your description, you mentioned that the Nazis used a swastika in different direction than the traditional symbol. Both directions are included in the Chinese character set. The Bonpo tradition in Tibet used a reverse direction swastika in order to differentiate themselves from Buddhism. The biggest difference in the Nazi use of the swastika was tilting it by 45 degrees. At one point they considered using the symbol with curved legs, but rejected the proposal.

    Another symbol that the Nazis hijacked was Nietzsche’s uebermensch. The Nazi work indicated someone of physical superiority where in Nietzsche’s writing, an uebermensch is an intellectual giant. The Nazi’s also attempted to re-issue the works of Nietzsche without his criticism of anti-Semitism.

    I read an interesting article that pointed to the works of American national socialist Henry Ford as an advocate of the “war on Christmas” conspiracy theory.
